Technology Integration defined and how I plan to get started...
Technology Integration – This is the first year that our school has
adopted this model of technology instruction. What is Technology
Integration?
Technology Integration
Integration is when
teachers use technology to introduce, reinforce, extend, enrich,
assess, and remediate student mastery of curricular targets.
Integration is an instructional choice to incorporate collaboration and
deliberate planning. Integration is collaborative by nature and must
always include the classroom teacher.

As this being my first year working officially with Technology Integration, I started the year by asking my staff what they would like to learn with regards to technology. The answers I received varied greatly from teacher to teacher - both in knowledge and experience as well as confidence with current and new applications. To guide teachers, I created a Scope and Sequence of technology skills for individual grade levels as well as a continuum from grades Pre-School thru Grade 5. Both documents were created with ISTE's National Educational Technology Standards (NETS) in mind.
